The S-TYPE sedan takes its styling cues from the high-performance Jaguar S-type model of the 1960s. But while the new S-TYPE may evoke Jaguar's powerful design legacy, its styling is unmistakably contemporary. The S-TYPE's optional equipment includes such innovative features as voice-activated controls and an in-dash Global Positioning Satellite. Agile handling and an intimate interior contribute to the S-TYPE's spirited, modern, technically sophisticated air.
With a sculptured hood and elegant grille, the S-TYPE V8 maintains the classic look of a Jaguar. The design is contemporary, with clean, strong lines. Attractive 16-inch alloy wheels or optional wide-diameter 17-inch sports alloy wheels highlight the car's dynamic character. An extensive choice of solid and metallic paint colors is also available.

The Jaguar S-TYPE offers superb, confident handling and a smooth, precise feel. It provides electronic traction control, which improves acceleration stability by reducing engine torque to prevent wheel spin. At speeds up to 25 mph, the system reduces torque and applies pulses of brake pressure to restore traction to a spinning rear wheel.
High performance, durability and security personify the S-TYPE V8’s seven-spoke, 16-inch wheels. They accompany 225/55 HR 16 radials that have been certified with an “H” speed rating. The S-TYPE’s wheels are made of aluminum alloy, which helps to reduce the vehicle’s unsprung weight, thereby contributing to the suspension’s ability to react quickly to the road surface, keeping the tires on the road more effectively. The S-TYPE’s optional Sport Package includes 235/50 ZR 17” performance tires on 17-inch sport wheels.
