Jeep Wrangler 2002 Jeep Wrangler

2003, 2002 Jeep Wrangler

For 60 years, the Jeep brand has set the standard for four wheel drive vehicles. And for those who are looking for a direct descendant of the Willys MB and the Jeep CJ, there is only Wrangler. It has the best ride ever thanks to its Quadra-CoilTM suspension, and comes with a standard new 4-ply soft-top or optional dual top and the available 190 horsepower 4.0L Power Tech I-6 engine.

Inside Wrangler is an interior designed for adventure, utility and convenience. Its wash-out interior makes clean up easy. A new full-floor center console keeps your valuables locked up and safe and features 2 cupholders in the front and two cupholders in the back. And this year an available sub-woofer ensures better bass response and an overall better sonic experience.

Wrangler's 4WD system is the legendary, easy to use, shift-on-the-fly Command-TracTM. Like the first Jeep vehicle (the Willys MB pictured to the left), to engage 4WD on Wrangler you just shift the transfer case lever from 2H to 4H at speeds up to 55 mph. And there's no need to stop to lock hubs or slow down to engage and disengage 4WD High. (Compare 4WD systems from today and 1945 below).

In addition, a stiff four-sided tubular frame, solid front axle, underbody skid plates, and an optional heavy-duty suspension ensures Wrangler's ability to tame the toughest terrain.

Wrangler's Fog Lamp and Tow Hook Group (two front, one rear) and its Quadra-CoilŪ suspension with gas-charged shock absorbers turn obstacles into mere annoyances. And the standard underbody skid plates for the fuel tank and transfer case allow Wrangler to take on even the rockiest trail without damage to its vital organs.

Wrangler's 30-inch Tire and Wheel Package includes heavy-duty shock absorbers and Canyon Cast Aluminum wheels with 30-inch Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires. And for the ultimate in off-road prowess, a rugged Dana 44-3 rear axle with 3.73:1 axle ratio is optional on Sport and Sahara. (Includes Trac-Lok Rear Differential. Not available with antilock brakes.)
